Berkeley Men’s Therapy – Empowering Men to Step into their Fullness with Courage and Compassion

Are you frustrated and confused by problems in your relationship with your partner? Has your partner become increasingly difficult to please, and despite your best efforts, you can never get it right? Yet, you care deeply for your partner, and dread the possibility of the relationship ending. This constant struggle you’re in is draining your energy and enthusiasm, leaving you less focused at work and in other areas of your life.

Major life transitions - such as a new job, a new living situation, or family planning - often trigger these relationship challenges. Intimate relationships can be particularly challenging for men dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, poor communication, low self-esteem, or lingering trust issues from past breakups or divorces - but these struggles don’t have to define your future.

I’m very familiar with the unique challenges that men face in today’s world, and I’m here to provide the guidance and support you need to regain confidence and clarity - so you can feel grounded in both your relationship and your work life.

Evolution can no longer be held by the idea of 'survival of the fittest;' it is more appropriately 'survival of the most connected.'

Men’s Issues in Modern Times

From an early age, parents, peer groups, and mainstream media often teach young men that emotions are irrational and that expressing needs in relationships is a sign of weakness. Many men learned to cope with emotional family members or peers by suppressing their own needs, using people-pleasing and accommodating behaviors to keep the peace. These deeply ingrained patterns, formed in childhood, can be difficult to break free from in adulthood.

However, the science of relationships has made one thing abundantly clear - authentic, open communication is the foundation for building trust and creating lasting intimacy in adult relationships.

“When somebody truly listens to us, it creates us, it makes us unfold and expand, and ideas actually begin to grow within us and come to life.”

-David Baird
