Berkeley Somatic Therapy for Anxiety and Depression - Helping via Transformative Exercises during Sessions
Do you too often feel overwhelmed by a seemingly endless torrent of obligations and stress? Are you tired of feeling chronically rushed, tense, and fatigued? Or perhaps high levels of anxiety and work pressure are causing you to feel irritable and impatient with people?
The intense pressure you're under is not sustainable, and it’s robbing you of the essential joys of life that come from secure personal relationships and meaningful leisure activities. Through mindfulness and somatic psychotherapy, I’ll use evidence-based techniques to help resolve your symptoms and empower you with healthy coping strategies for anxiety and depression.
Effective therapy will not only alleviate your stress; it will help you feel calmer, more focused, and emotionally present - so you can fully connect with the people who matter most in your life.
“When you’re able to be fully present, your heart opens because your mind isn’t in the way.”
-Debra Chamberlin-Taylor
A Somatic Therapist You Feel Comfortable With is Essential
I’m dedicated to ensuring you feel deeply supported and empowered to speak up at any time about your needs. My style is warm, gentle, and highly collaborative. I make it a priority to regularly check-in with you about how certain segments of sessions affect you and about which specific techniques are most helpful for you.
I prioritize lifelong training, and stay at the forefront of the latest research in neuroscience and psychology, so that I’m best equipped to lead you towards meaningful personal growth and emotional well-being.
What to Expect from Somatic Therapy
As the client, you are always in control during sessions. You choose how much you want to talk while in mindfulness and how much you want to talk regularly. You’ll also be the one to decide what topics we focus on each session.
At the start of mindfulness-based sessions, I’ll provide precise guidance to help you enter a state of deep present awareness. From there, you’ll be gently directed to explore the most important themes and topics you bring to therapy while maintaining a clear and calm state of mind. The pace and emotional depth of our sessions will be carefully adjusted to meet your unique needs.
I’m trained in some of the most innovative psychological techniques available - Hakomi Mindful Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. For those seeking a more direct and evocative approach to healing past trauma, I also offer EMDR therapy.

“The unconscious mind is not only a storehouse of deep-seated fears and painful life experiences. It’s also a source of intuitive wisdom and fundamental inner truths that have conglomerated in you through many years of valuable life experiences.”
